What to do
- Knocked-out tooth: handle by the crown (not the root), rinse gently with water, and keep moist in milk if possible. Call the clinic right away.
- Broken tooth: rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
- Severe pain or swelling: avoid hot foods and call the clinic to be triaged.
- Lost filling or crown: keep the area clean and call to schedule an appointment.
